A duplicate artist profile has been created on Spotify due to a new release that came out.

A duplicate artist profile has been created on Spotify due to a new release that came out. The new release is under the new artist profile that has been created, how to get the new release on the original and actual artist profile and remove the new one? Will the plays on the new release be added to the original artist profile once fixed?

Thanks for the reply but I already tried contacting them twice, even sent out a couple of emails to the artist support but no one has gotten back to me and it's been quite a few days. No sure how good their artist support team is!

The same happened to me, my artist name is "Kalvich" and I already sent two messages to solve it. One of the messages was sent by my digital aggregator "Metro Distribución" and another one I just sent it with the form that you explained, what we do but there is an answer? More than a week has passed. Regards!

I have the same issue. This has thwarted my plans and investments into promo for the song, which is a major issue. I had set up pr / promo for Spotify in particular for this single, in order to help grow my spotify presence. Now the song is getting older, which really hurts promo, while I wait for a response. It doesn't make sense to promote a song that is on the wrong page, for multiple resons. In fact it makes me think I can't promote it at all on any platform, because then if people go to listen on Spotify, it's messed up. I too have addressed it through my distributor, and through Spotify. But it has only been one day in my case. 😞 @NikhilMehta @MattSuda

Yes, I got this sorted. The best way is to contact Spotify Support on twitter. In case you haven't got a response yet on your email, just let them know on twitter and they will make sure the issue gets resolved for you.

the run around. They said to go through my distributor. (Which I have done
and will take weeks). Kalvich can you tell me what Spotify twitter account
you wrote to? And NhikilMheta I am also wondering whether followers/plays
transferred over, and what twitter account you wrote to.

Just tried to reach via twitter and they sent me elsewhere, stating that they could not assist. 

There's no option like this. I would like to report several duplicate artist profiles.

I reported several duplicate artist profiles on Spotify on 3rd February 2024 via chat support.**bleep** team redirected me to the chat support. Nothing happened ever since, none of these profiles have been merged.

 

– a number of artists created a second (or even third) profile for their music (duplicate pages – these are definitely not change of stage name issues; most likely they forgot the password to access their profile)
– there are some cases when a second profile with the same artist's name was created out of mistake (e.g. spelling mistake)

 

These duplicate pages should be merged into one page, so that the artist would get the credits they're entitled to. YouTube has been doing something similar recently.

On 13rd April 2024 I received the following via chat support. Hope it's gonna happen sooner or later :).

 

I've checked all the accounts and it's clear that there is duplicate accounts.
I appreciate you taking the time to let us know. I’ll make sure the teams backstage see this so they can bear in mind this feedback as we move forward. I've all ready fully documented everything with regards to the other accounts. You don't have to worry anymore. We'll contact the Artist so we can take care of them moving forward.

Let's keep this thread open so you can always come back when you have anything to ask especially relevant questions to this chat so we can tackle the issue from here instead of starting from scratch.
