Advertising embedded into podcasts

My Question or Issue

I listened to a podcast yesterday - the rockstar chatting to an ex-president - which was a lovely, insightful chat between two people I'd be happy to sit down with and say 'hello'.

What I'm not happy with, was the revelation that there are adverts - targeted at UK listeners, in this instance - embeded into the podcast. 

I could not believe my ears.

You can guess my next comment............... Why am I hearing adverts as a Premium-level, paying, Spotify listener?

While Spotify doesn’t play ads that interrupt the music listening experience of Premium subscribers, some podcasts may include advertising, host-read endorsements, or sponsorship messages.
