Album Normalisation

Album Normalisation

Hello! When uploading an album, before releasing it, does Spotify normalise the entire album as a whole, or does it normalise track by track? Thanks!

Hello, thanks a lot for your response. I've went through that article, and the part that could possibly answer my question, is this

  • We normalize an entire album at the same time, so gain compensation doesn’t change between tracks. This means the softer tracks are as soft as you intend them to be.

So, this basically means that there will be applied -14 LUFS norm to the album as a whole, like if it was one big song, or to each individual track seperately? (I've made the album have differences in volume between the tracks, and normalisation to each one of them seperately would cause problems to its flow)Thanks!

Hey @user-removed,

Thanks for the reply.

If you have more specific questions on the matter, we'd suggest reaching out to the Artist Support team directly.

They'll be able to give you more detailed information.

Cheers.
