Artist Portal - What does "Releasing X of X Countries" refer to?

Solved!

Artist Portal - What does "Releasing X of X Countries" refer to?

Hi Spotify Content Team,

I'm curious about a message I'm seeing for the first time in the Upcoming section of the Artist Portal -

Spotify Artist Portal Capture - Releasing X of X countries.JPG

Can you give any information on what this refers to and if it is a static number or will it increase as new territories get added?

Thanks!

Hey @goldrecorddaddy,

It means that your new single is already live in 11 out of 65 countries. 🙂

A new release becomes available in a country once it's midnight there.

Hi,

I am having a problem with this right now: It's 8 hours past midnight in my country, but the song has not been released yet. It says released in 32 of 78 countries. I have checked, and it is availiable on all other platforms already. What gives?

Since the question was asked, the total number has at least changed.

So where it was 65 then, it is 79 now.

Therefore the answer is yes, the total increases as new countries get the Spotify service.

To add on the answer give by Maxim, the local time of the release is not always midnight. The release currently running for my band, was set for 19:00 local time (using Distrokid as aggregator).

Looking at the release count every hour, the increments seem to match perfectly match the number of countries where the clock turned 19:00 in that hour.

I hope this clarifies for you, and any other like me having the same question.
