My Question or Issue

Most of the Korean song titles are translated into English. The Chinese and Japanese songs seem to be fine, it's just the Korean songs. How do I stop this/revert to their original titles?

Hi @Jaydynite, thanks for reaching out!

My first suggestion is that you use your desktop to go to Settings > Language > and set it to Korean.

On mobile, it usually follows your device’s language, so you might have to change your whole phone’s language to Korean.

Also, if your Spotify account is registered in a non-Korean country, the metadata (like song titles) may be adjusted for local audiences. A Korean-region account usually shows Korean titles by default.

And remember that sometimes the same album has two versions — one with English titles, one with Korean ones. Try searching the artist name in Korean to get more Korean listings.

Let me know if it helps!

I tried changing the app language to Korean, but although the titles appear in Korean when I search for them, they are still in English when I add the same ones to my playlist.

Hey @Jaydynite,

Thank you for your patience.

We received an update about this from internal teams, and it's actually an expected behavior. The names of artists and their titles are shown exactly as they come from the label or distributor. Spotify does not translate them automatically; instead, the label supplies localized versions for various markets.

However, in some areas of the app, like the Now Playing View, you might notice some inconsistencies in the application of localization. For instance, while the Search feature displays the Korean title when the system language is set to Korean, the Now Playing View could still show the English title. This discrepancy is probably because of the different methods each view uses to retrieve and prioritize localized metadata. We appreciate your patience and the time you took reporting this behavior.
