Lissie's Covered Up with Flowers

Lissie's Covered Up with Flowers

This album used to be on Spotify, but seems to be no longer. Surely the below is all the argument needed for Spotify's executive team to flex their maximum weight to get it back. I would really like it back.

Spotify is great, but the lack of cool remixes and covers makes me wish sometimes that I was still scavenging MP3s. If too many things are missing (ahem, Aaliyah),  I imagine that more users will drop music services.

Hi @diplostreetmix, thanks for writing!

You probably know that Spotify wants to make all the world’s music available, but it can vary over time and between countries, depending on the permissions from rights holders. Covers and remixes are even more complicated since it involves multiple artists.

This is the only song that's currently not available in the album Catching a Fire.

Remember that you can always get in touch with the artist directly using her social media channels 🙂 Maybe she'll let you know the reason and when it'll be back!

I think you are confused, or I must be confused. "Pursuit of Happiness" appears on the 2016 album/EP Covered Up With Flowers. I can't find anything called Catching a Fire, and Covered Up With Flowers seems to no longer exist at all on Spotify in the desktop version. Oddly, I can follow a link from Lissie's website to Spotify and view album in the web player, but only one song, "Nothing Else Matters" is available. I get that there are all sorts of reasons why rights become unavailable; I am suggesting to Spotify that getting this "Pursuit of Happiness" cover's rights back should be a C-suite level priority! 🙂

Hey @diplostreetmix,

Here's the link to the "Covered Up With Flowers". It's available in all Spotify countries, I've just checked it.

And here's the link to the 2010's Catching a Tiger (not a Fire 🙂

Can you play them?

Like I said, I can find them on the web player, but they oddly don't exist on the desktop version. Anyway, all I really care about is Pursuit of Happiness, which is a license issue that I hope Spotify can fix.

That's really odd, @diplostreetmix.

The availability of a song doesn't vary between devices. There's something wrong with your desktop app.

Please try reinstalling it and let me know if it helps!
