Music break through with dementia patents

My wife's mother,  "Mom" to her and me,  Miss Ellie to every one else..has dimentha.  But before she worked in hospitals and in hospice.  She mentioned many times how amazing the some patients reacted when music the patients remember is played.

Can you suggest a station format that plays music from each year starting at age 6 of the patient.  Play music for each year for the next "x" hours stepping through the patient life.  allow for superior like and don't like for each patient in a group home setting.  The theory is tho dementia patients some time relate to music from there era.   You guys are music experts and seems to me it would be a simple thing to set up,  it would be cool go give some pleasure to those that find little pleasure in anything.

I am interested in your advice.

@LOSUsystems I'm certain there are playlists that play year by year, but otherwise I'm not sure. Bumping the thread because I would love an answer.
