My Discover Weekly contained 16 disliked songs.

My Question or Issue

This is the first time my Discover Weekly has contained any disliked songs and suddenly there are 16 disliked songs.  Anyone see this before?  Any ideas what may have happened?

A rapid update: exactly the same of last week, 7 already disliked tracks, 23 new songs so. No improvements. The selection of songs at least was not that bad, but also nothing special...

Sadly no improvement for me...15 disliked songs included.

DW used to be something I looked forward to at the start of the week, now it's an exercise in frustration.

Is there support representative from Spotify reading this?

Can I get an official update on this issue please.  I think it is reasonable to get a discounted subscription until this is fixed.  It's already a long running problem and providing a discount is right sizing the value proposition to me, plus it may incentivize Spotify to fix this problem.

Fellow Community members, do you know how to log a support ticket...I can only find a redirection to the community which is less than ideal.

I don't know how to help you, on this forum no one seems to really cares, i almost always receive standard answers, Spotify Cares on Facebook is a little bit better but doesn't make miracles. Maybe you still can try to contact them, but don't expect that much...
I think they don't care if users will leave their service to other more valuable like YTM

No improvement this week. 7 songs that were already hidden and virtually ALL repeats of songs that have been in it before. No variation based on my listening/liking/playlist building the past week, just the same types of songs I'm super tired of by now. DW used to be my _favorite_ spotify feature. It's basically the reason i got premium. Now it just repeats the same songs over and over again and somehow contains songs i've already hidden. Another thing I've noticed is that it will contain covers/remixes/variations of songs i've already hidden, which i dislike just as much. Why does it think I want to "discover" those any more than the originals? I'm sticking around in hopes that this will get fixed and it will go back to the way it was, because until lately it really was good. What happened?? Can we get an official update?

Last week I tried deleting and re-installing the spotify app to see if anything would happen. All that seemed to do was unhide all the songs that were hidden (???). So this week I have no previously hidden songs in my DW (but I may have tried to hide some of them in the past, no way of knowing?). However ALL songs except 2 that I didn't specifically recognize are definitely repeats from previous DW lists, like maybe from a year ago. As far as I can tell, my DW content has nothing to do with my current listening or playlists or liked songs. It seems to be its own little universe, like maybe it's just a playlist of similar songs that repeats over and over, and a playlist I don't even want to hear anymore. It's useless as a discovery tool. It didn't used to be like this. Please fix these algorithms or give us the option to reset DW.

This week we got a little downgrade, with only 24 over 30 new tracks, the other six was already been disliked 2 or 3 years ago. Is it that difficult to fix this problem, since we are all paying?

Still no improvements for me. All except about 6 songs definitely repeats from past DWs or elsewhere.

Weekly report: this time almost perfect with 29 over 30 new tracks. Only one already disliked. Maybe next week a full improvement or a downgrade like last time?

Basically no change for me this week. Only 11 tracks that I didn't specifically recognize from past DW lists or elsewhere. No change in the style of the songs included despite listening to totally different stuff for months now.

Ok here's mine
- Both PC (Windows 10) and smartphone (Samsung Galaxy A5 2016)
- Latest available for both platforms
- First time as i reported was 22/02/2021, now it seems to become better, with sometimes 29 over 30 new tracks as a record, but for other users no, they saw no improvements

Hi Jeremy, thanks for chiming in.

I use my iPhone/iOS (latest version) for Spotify, the latest version of the app.

For me the issue of DW containing hidden songs started Feb 22, 2021 (the first day this thread was posted).

As I mentioned in a previous post (3 weeks ago), I tried deleting and re-installing the spotify app to see if anything would happen. That seemed to unhide all the songs that were hidden (???). Since then no hidden songs have showed up in my DW (but I may have tried to hide some of them in the past, I have no way of knowing?).

So now I am less concerned about the fact that hidden songs are showing up in it but more so that Discover Weekly is useless as a music discovery tool because it only ever contains repeats of songs that have already been in it many times before and the style of the music in it is completely stale. It does NOT reflect my current listening habits/playlists at all. It's just like stuck in the past, repeating the same old stuff over and over (whether that be songs I've hidden, songs from past DWs, songs I've already liked/heard many times, etc. There's no reason any of those should be on a playlist of "fresh, new" music.) This is the real issue here.

I know it can be better, because it used to be great. Please pass on this info to your team, thank you.

Hello from Italy.

My Discover Weekly contains too many songs in foreign languages, such as French, Norwegian and others. Since I don't understand these languages and I don't like listening to these songs, is it possible to have only songs in English and Italian language?

That happens every week and even if I hide these foreign songs I keep getting new ones.

Rapidamente in italiano - stesso problema mio, solo con roba in svedese e norvegese più che altro, occasionalmente spagnolo e tedesco. Immagino che ascoltando diversi gruppi rock e metal (Europe, Helloween, Scorpions, Celtic Frost, Mago De Oz....) di quei posti, l'algoritmo pensa che ti possano piacere anche pezzi -spesso neanche di quei generi- in quella lingua. Io nascondo del tutto l'artista-band ogni volta, se non mi piace, però bene o male se ascolti tanta musica da quei paesi, secondo me è quasi inevitabile beccarsi ogni tanto qualcosa in lingue diverse dall'inglese (o anche dall'italiano se ascolti diversi artisti italiani)

Ascolto pochissimo di musica italiana, però ebbene sì, lo sono ahah. Comunque questo problema lo ho sempre avuto, a volte in misura minore, a volte maggiore (tipo in questa ho un pezzo in finlandese, uno in tedesco e uno in spagnolo)... il vero casino è quando ti ripropongono brani ai quali hai già messo dislike anni fa!

Weekly update, no change from my same basic issues this week. 18 out of 30 songs I already know, mostly repeats from past DWs. Of the ones that weren't repeats, they don't vary in style from how my DW has been for a long time (that is, it seems all my DW songs are only related to each other, not my current listening or playlists).
