My Question or Issue
I have a couple playlists on Spotify, and there's one that has 13 likes, featuring very aggresive phonk. They are fellow listeners, as well as I listen to my own playlists very often. All the playlists I have publicly available are playlists I actively update and listen to.
This one with 13 likes, doesn't really have promotion from the outside, but rather it mainly has visibility from the "Discovered On" section, and it has worked before with artists that eventually got more known (I still appear there, but you have to click on "Show All").
I've recently found some more underrated artists with nice songs I wanted to feature, and so I did add them in the first positions of this playlist to easily appear in the "Discovered On" section, just as I am used to do.
The problem is that it's been a couple days since, and I don't appear in those underrated "Discovered On" section of these artists.
Let me explain. There's only like 3~4 playlists in their "Discovered On" section. And with less likes than me (with just 2 likes even), they're appearing in those sections, while I'm struggling to make appear my playlist with 13 likes from active listeners.
Why is this happening?
If you want reference, my playlist is "demential phonk", and my profile is tenshi.
It does even appear in the search, which makes this problem even more confusing.
I at least need advice on how to solve it or make it finally work, or what steps I have to follow, so my playlist appears in the "Discovered On" section of the underrated artists I'm featuring.

Hi there @tenshi_desu,
Welcome to the Community!
Playlist popularity on Spotify is automatically managed by the Spotify algorithms, based on several factors, including how often a playlist is listened to, how many likes it has, how many people click on it, the genre of songs and others. There could be thousands or millions of playlists containing some songs from these artists, and the currently most-popular will appear on top.
You can't manually get your playlist to appear on the "Discovered on" section of artists, even if they're not very popular.
The best way to go around this is to promote your playlists on social media and gain more followers and active listeners. You can also share your playlists or your favorite songs from those artists in the Chat section of the Community. The "Music exchange" and "Discovery and Promo" will the the best boards to post on. There are a lot of fans who love discovering new music here in the Community.
Hope this info helps.

So I need more playlist popularity, doing things like promoting it to more people, in order to be more likely to appear in every section, right? Understood.
Still, you already know we're talking about VERY underrated artists with less than 1000 listeners, with little to no "Discovered On" playlists and a very low amount of likes on each, so probably there isn't even a hundred public playlists featuring those artists around the entire globe.
So being more concrete with my request, is there something my playlist doesn't have that those other playlists with lower likes do have, or viceversa?
Remember I have 13 likes and most are active listeners. I know it's very low, but how is there a couple playlists with 2 likes appearing in that section and not me?
Explain to me if you know: What is/are the actual reason(s) behind it, concretely?
Hi there @tenshi_desu,
Thanks for the reply.
If you have an artist account it's possible to check out stats like for example live stream count, how many saves, see who are your followers, etc. We have more info in this here.
If you have a regular user account we offer the option to see how many followers your list has but no deeper insights into the exact stats.
You can go ahead and create an idea on the relevant idea board, if you think that Spotify users might want to have better statistics for their playlists. We always take new ideas and feedback into consideration to improve the app. Here you can read more on how ideas work.
We also suggest checking this help article for useful tips on how to submit an idea. As a heads-up, it's good to know that the higher the number of votes an idea gets, the more likely it is for the idea to be implemented.
Hope this helps. Let us know if you have any more questions.
I had the same question but a few of my playlists were already listed on the 'Discovered On' section for several (very obscure) artists but are now no longer listed, even though my playlists have more likes. What's up with that?
I couldn´t agree more. I´ve been a super active Spotify user for 13-something years without any real activity concerning new profile- or list followers which is actually kind of incredible, since I´ve been one of the most active listeners and list makers out there throughout the years. Have now made almost all my lists private and have kind of given up in trying to reach out. Nowadays it´s worse than ever since the algorithms are sadly enough not helping either myself as a music connoisseur and a unpaid small spare time promoter or the great new alternative bands and artists I try to make people find and listen to. Spotify should really look through their uncreative algorithms so that the real active music nerds that actually love music and this platform are lifted and helped instead of giving hollow AI-lists and random lists created without passion 95% of the visibility, for example in the "Discovered On" area. Telling us the solution is to leave this platform, where we rather spend our time, and instead promote our lists elsewhere on some mind numbing social media is kind of a uninterested slap in the face, a pseudosolution meaning they don´t really care. Feels like Spotify have lost touch with the real music fans that helped to build this fantastic place for music over the years. If Spotify wants to become better, grow and build their reputation among artists and music connoisseurs they should start supporting the true hardcore fans that do loads of free promotion and stand up for Spotify every minute of everyday of every year. /Radio Fågrö, Sweden (Gör om gör rätt!)
I do promote my playlist on social media and I am used to being ignored, so I know how hard it is. Yet it's still worth doing.
I have moved from Twitter which had a CTR of less than 0.1 % to Threads where I am now getting a CTR of around 1%. Not only that but I am also engaging with some of the artists I discover via Threads. I see 'Considerate Criminal' growing from 154 monthly listeners to 266, 'Neecos Breakfast' from 32 to 84 and 'Zeynep Sophia' from 15 to 22. The first 2 artists I have been in contact with. They can see streams coming from New Zealand but can't see what playlist these are coming from.
You will have a hard time convincing me that these followers aren't generated from my playlist when they only started appearing shortly after I listed them.
I attach a reply from Paul of 'Considerate Criminals' their song 'Soul' entered my top 50 tracks on 17th August and they are currently at 39 in our top 50. I estimate this to be 50 - 60 streams not attributed to my playlist and that's just those coming from NZ
I loved to find New playlists unser the "Discovered On".. Sad that there Seems to be no more playlists for me to find.. I hate the New Algorithm
