Podcast art turning black and white after play

My Question or Issue

Since May 2025, recently played podcast episode art has turned extremely dark black-and-white. It returns to normal after a few days. I HATE THIS FEATURE. How can I turn it off?

We haven't seen any similar reports about this so to investigate this further, can you please let us know the following:

• The model, OS version and Spotify version of the affected devices.
• Does this happen with all podcasts in the Recently Played section?
• Is it the same on your Windows Desktop? If not, have you tried any troubleshooting steps like logging out and back in a couple of times or clean reinstalling the app?
• Have you noticed any specific event after which the covers turn black and white/return back to normal?

I have had this issue as well. I just noticed it in the last day or two. It is happening on my Windows app as well. What’s weird is that it has stopped doing it today with new episodes that came out, but the old ones are still black and white.
