Previously available podcast suddenly says not available in my region

I regularly listen to the Rockonteurs podcast in the UK as a UK user and went back to finish off an episode I'd started to listen to on Sunday. Spotify now says "Sorry that's not currently available in your region" but it most surely is. My region is Spotify region is the UK and the podcast is produced in the UK and I've listened for years. No idea what's happening here??

Thanks for your reply Vasil...I'd tried deleting the cached data etc but that didn't work. A day later the podcast has suddenly reappeared in Spotify search again and is playable. Must have just been a Spotify blip!

Hey @1marcoose,

Sorry to see this has happened!

Could you let us know if this behaviour persists across multiple platforms (mobile, desktop, web player)?
I'd start off troubleshooting here by removing the cached data on the affected devices (and your web browser's cached data in case this happens on the web player).

In case the issue remains, see if using a different internet connection would yield a different result and make sure you're not using any VPN services.

We'll be on the lookout for your reply 🙂

I'm having the same issues with The Quartering's Podcast and none of the steps you've mentioned above are fixing it.  I also have no VPN active when I try to listen to it.

Hi there @jdg3981,

Thanks for joining the thread!

Can you send us a link to the podcast so we can have a closer look? Do you get this error when listening to other podcasts as well or is this the only one? Can you also confirm if it's unavailable across all platforms - can you check the mobile and desktop app, as well as the Web Player

It'd also be great if you can ask a friend or relative to log in their own account on one of your devices to check if they get the same error. Another thing worth trying is logging out and back in your account a couple of times in a row to make sure everything's synced.

Let us know how it goes.

Hola,

I made my own podcast but when I go on Spotify to see it, it says it's not available in my region. It definitely is because I was the one who made it. Do you have an idea on what's happening?

Hi @SillyIzzyHehe,

Thanks for the reply.

If possible, could you send us a link to the podcast in question so we can test on our end what is happening? Is it only you that can't open the podcast or other users too? Also consider checking if the behaviour is the same across all devices and on different networks as suggested by @Dessi

With that info, we'll look into this further and help you get to the bottom of things.

Keep us posted.

Hi, same issue here with me. The audio book I’ve been listening to for days suddenly has the “not available in your region” error message. It’s project Hail Mary by Andy Weir.

Same issue, same book!

Same issue here too, different book series.  Kind of frustrating though.

Hey @DeOhYouGee, could you let us know which content is being displayed as 'not available' on your end?

And, @TSL-90 & @Elisemtuttle, does the issue continue to persist for you as well?

For anyone new here and for anyone still affected - let us know the following details:

  • Your device + its OS version + your Spotify app version
  • If this is occurring on multiple platforms
  • The region you're from (make sure to avoid the use of VPN services when using Spotify)

Many thanks. Keep us in the loop 🙂
