Sort Order of the songs

My Question or Issue

The order of the songs is very often wrong and does not reflect the order of the original album.

I have noted that in "the psychedelic furs" album titled "forever now " the songs order is totally messed up .

Why do you sort them and don't you let the original order?

Thanks for reaching out 🙂
While the album sorting order cannot be manually changed, you can still copy an album's content to a playlist by selecting the three dots of the album -> 'Add to playlist'. Your personal playlists can then have any sorting order of your choosing.

that's not the point. The main question is WHY Spotify decides to change the order? The songs order has been decided by the artist for some reasons and is not random. If i were the artist i will ask SPOTIFY to sell the product exactly as it was released. The solution you suggest is a work around but i do not want to make a playlist for EVERY ALBUM i like. I'd like to play the album as it was originally mastered on vinil or CD ....

Keep in mind that Spotify displays the music exactly as it’s delivered to us by the artist's label or distributor.

On another note, we checked the album you mentioned and we noticed that the songs are in the correct order on Spotify. If they're displayed in a different order for you, could you send us a screenshot of what you're seeing on your end? We'll take a closer look.

Thanks for the info you've provided!

Upon further checking, it looks like the version of this album uploaded on Spotify is actually the 2002 reissue/remaster of that same album. As @Eni mentioned, the state of an album is actually determined by the artist's label or distributor so we don't have influence on it, but we really appreciate your input on this!
