Spotify False Advertising- Concert Listings

Spotify False Advertising- Concert Listings

I received an upcoming concerts listing from Spotify that listed a Nelly concert Sat Jan 21 at Tiff Lightbox in Toronto. It included a photo of the rapper Nelly.

Myself and 3 friends purchased tickets only to find out that this is actually an arts film http://www.tiff.net/films/nelly and not a concert as Spotify listed.

I am extremely disappointed about the misleading advertising and feel horrible that I have made 3 friends purchase tickets to something none of us wish to attend.

I am a big fan of Spotify and have been a paying member of the product for awhile.

SpotifyCares hasn't been any help! Has anyone else run into this issue? Looks like they've removed the link but we're still out our $$$. Brutal!

Hello @bluce

Sorry for the late reply.

Spotify gets the concert listings from a website/app called SongKick. The website works with artists to show upcoming shows.

This might have been an error on SongKick's end which unfortunately means it was also passed along to Spotify.

I have passed this thread on to be looked into. Hopefully this doesn't happen again in the future.
