What is the difference between open.spotify and spotify? I am unable to find information anywhere about this despite searching. [I am sorry if this is the wrong category - I was unable to find one more appropriate.]

The website open.spotify uses your web browser when accessing Spotify. The Spotify app is downloaded on your computer.
