What is Spotify's method for making new releases available? It seems really hit or miss on Tuesdays (when most albums come out). Sometimes the album will be listed, but not available, sometimes there will not even be a listing for the album, and some are available right away in the morning. Most of the time, new albums are available right away on Tuesdays on services like Rdio and MOG, but Spotify seems to always lag behind and get some new albums later in the afternoon or a few days later. What gives?
Right now, I can listen to the new Aesop Rock on Rdio just fine. I can search for it and see the listing for it on Spotify, but it tells me that it's not available. Any chance Spotify is going to make sure new releases are up in a timely manner?

For the past 8 days I have daily checked for the new Eric Church album on Spotify (release date was last Tuesday). When will it be available?
Spotify never know in advanced I don't think, since its up to the record label to add the content. There is a discussion about that album in particular here:

(Perhaps here is a better threat to ask my question (once again))
Mono of Japan could be found at Spotify. They published two albums in October: "The Last Dawn" and "Rays of Darkness".
These two aren't available at Spotify actually. When will they be available?

Hello: What is your current listening regions or better yet the region you registered your spotify account in?
I will do a quick region look up on those two release but I am in the States and both of those releases are showing availble to me right now.
I have done a region lookup now on those two releases you mentioned.
The Last Dawn availability><territories>CA MX US</territories>
Rays of Darkness availability><territories>CA MX US</territories>
So if you did not register you spotify account in those regions those releases will not be available to stream for you.
All music made available to the spotify service is up to the labels, artists, and/or their representatives. Please have a read over on this detailed post here
point 5 covers about the issue with missing music/artists. Thank you!
Thanks a lot for your answer.
I'm registered in Germany, and so if I understand you the right way, these two albums will not be available here, though other albums of Mono are available there.

@luciantenebrae:
Is every user able to do this kind of "lookup" you mentioned in your answers, and if yes, how?

"Is every user able to do this kind of "lookup" you mentioned in your answers, and if yes, how?"

Yes there are a few resources, I use the web XML look up. It looks like this.
For Tracks lookup the URL looks like this http://ws.spotify.com/lookup/1/?uri=spotify:track:
For Albums lookup the URL looks like this http://ws.spotify.com/lookup/1/?uri=spotify:album:
Now for the technical bit. If you pay attention to the http or URI links of tracks and albums you will notice a string code at the end of everything. I will give you an example based on those two releases you are interested in.
The Last Dawn http link - http://open.spotify.com/album/0YQ1Gfy02UuVCBo0oXjKwy
Rays of Darkness http link - http://open.spotify.com/album/34l8dEEn6xdZ8tqUcQV8Dq
I have put both releases with their http links with the string codes at the end in bold so you can notice them.
Now to do a lookup of regions access of lets say The Last Dawn, you would do this. Use the album URL string code information so it will display the xml file information in a browser tab. It looks like this with the string code at the end.
http://ws.spotify.com/lookup/1/?uri=spotify:album:0YQ1Gfy02UuVCBo0oXjKwy
Now if we copy and paste that URL into a browser tab and hit enter we get this information of the release, Looks like this:
<album><name>The Last Dawn</name><artist href="spotify:artist:53LVoipNTQ4lvUSJ61XKU3"><name>MONO</name></artist><released>2014</released><id type="upc">656605324265</id><availability><territories>CA MX US</territories></availability></album>
If you notice in that information we get the Album title, the artist link identifier in the spotify service that takes users to their artist page on the service, the artist name, the year of the release, the UPC code of the CD that is sold and the material that it came from, and now we see what territories each region of the spotify service can access and stream the release from. CA MX US
Those are two letters are (ISO) region codes for countries that the release is open to stream. CA = Canada, MX = Mexico, and of Course US = USA
For the next release Rays of Darkness we repeat the process all over again.
http://ws.spotify.com/lookup/1/?uri=spotify:album:34l8dEEn6xdZ8tqUcQV8Dq
<album><name>Rays of Darkness</name><artist href="spotify:artist:53LVoipNTQ4lvUSJ61XKU3"><name>MONO</name></artist><released>2014</released><id type="upc">656605324364</id><availability><territories>CA MX US</territories></availability></album>
A website listing two (ISO) and three (UN) letter Country codes for reference. http://www.worldatlas.com/aatlas/ctycodes.htm
You can get the track and album string codes from both the URL and URI links, just use the right URL for each type of lookup the track URL with individual tracks lookup and so on for the albums as well.
Last Dawn http - http://open.spotify.com/album/0YQ1Gfy02UuVCBo0oXjKwy
Last Dawn URI - spotify:album:0YQ1Gfy02UuVCBo0oXjKwy
Rays of Darkness http - http://open.spotify.com/album/34l8dEEn6xdZ8tqUcQV8Dq
Rays of Darkness URI - spotify:album:34l8dEEn6xdZ8tqUcQV8Dq
Enjoy have fun. 🙂
Thanks a lot for your detailed answer - it's also very interesting!
And furthermore I'm able to access 7 of 10 songs of the mentioned Mono-albums - that's great 🙂
Once more - thank you

why is demi lovato's new single there but we can't play it?
When will Dr. Dre's new album "Compton" be up?
when does zendaya come out the new album its not in spotify
Hello
I found this article here: http://www.josepvinaixa.com/blog/zendaya-second-studio-album/ and the article covered information about Zendaya's second anticipated second released "the singer is currently working on her highly-anticipated second studio album, scheduled to be released in February 2016 via Hollywood Records."
When does views by drake come out on to spotify
Everything I have read so far if the release is going to be available on Spotify it should show up on either May 6th or the 7th. Been a little back and forth over some information from sources. Drake did an exclusive for the first week only beginning April 29th for another media service, and then the release will be available everywhere else after the full week has passed. So New Music Friday which is May 6th, I would keep an eye out there and check and see if it drops then on the Spotify service.
