downloaded songs being dropped from premium account

downloaded songs being dropped from premium account

I have noticed numerous occasions over the past 2 years when a song saved in a playlist disappeared.  Song was available when I searched it and I resaved it to a playlist.  Why did it drop off in the first place?  If artist content is removed, then added back to Spotify are they scrubbed from downloaded playlists?  This is ridiculously frustrating to have no way to keep track of the comings and goings of songs on this site.  For example, I had a couple songs downloaded by Unkle, poof gone.  Didn't notice till I realized band was not in a playlist.  Yes, they are available artists.  When I resaved Spotify did not indicate the song had been previously saved, so artist had clearly dropped off my account.

Hey @Yeskevin5,

Thanks for posting in the Community.

The described experience is to be expected, because if some content becomes no longer available on our platform and then becomes available again, it counts as if new content has been added.

This way the old copy, which was in the playlist, will not be in the playlist anymore and you'll have to add the new copy again.

But as we constantly strive to improve the user experience on our platform, we hope to see content, that was made available again get added to the respective playlists automatically some day.

Hope this helps,

Cheers!

Joke of a response.  It is 2024 and available songs are still randomly dropping off  playlists.  There are threads going back to 2017 of customers pointing out the same issue.
