Bad image error- can't play or install spotify

Hi Spotify stopped working on my Windows 8 PC. I reinstalled and it won't even install. I get the error message -

Spotify.exe - Bad Image. C:Windows/system32/credui.dll is either not designed to run on windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using original media or contact your system admin or software vendor. error status 0xc0000020

Please help, this is going on for a week and I'm paying £9.99 a month to use and cannot use!

Hey fee3,

It seems like the credui.dll on your windows machine is damaged. So your problem is very likely not a Spotify related one. If you are not very into pc things then you should hit up your (local) pc vendor. Maybe he can help you to fix this issue.

In the worst case you have to reset your computer (official microsoft solution :D)

But if you are into pc things, you can actually try to replace the broken credui.dll with a working one. But I can't guarantee that it will work or that it will not DAMAGE your computer.

Maybe there are more possible options for a proper solution. I would definitively recommend you to talk to your vendor!

Good luck and have fun hearing music 🙂
