Desktop player gets stuck on ads

It's happened several times on the windows desktop version of Spotify. It gets to an ad, but the ad doesn't play, it gets stuck on 0:00 and i can't force it play or pause, or play any other music. Everytime I have to close and reopen spotify.

Exact same problem here. Got nothing much to add, but Spotify needs to fix it. (I've actually heard rumours that it's intended to make people buy premium, but take that with a grain of salt)
