Radio no longer available through webplayer

Radio no longer available through webplayer

I use the webplayer exclusively, and since a week or two maybe the radio function is nowhere to be found. The button isn't on the left any more, track menus no longer offers to start radio.

The radiofunction is still accessible through direct links, but to start radio by a track you have to copy and paste the track ID into the radio url of a different track.

I hope this gets fixed soon, there's been a bunch of posts about it all over these forums and the only thing even close to an answer has been that it can happen if you have a slow connection or just upgraded to premium - neither of which applies to me.

It would be nice to at least hear that someone is aware of the issue and that it's being looked at - or not, as the case may be.

I just checked mine in Chrome 53, and the radio tab on the left and all radio stations are still there. But maybe they are testing something again on a few random users.

Still no change, still no solution. Where does one even go to report an actual bug in spotify?

If anyone else has this issue and finds this post, please come contribute to the discussion and trouble shooting here:

I have also recently run in to this problem. I've cleared my cache, and still nothing. I've also tried going diretly to www.spotify.com/radio and below is a screenshot of what I get when I go to that link.

Spotify seems unable or unwilling to fix this bug so at this point I'm recommending everyone to look for other options for their streaming audio.

That being said the correct link is https://play.spotify.com/radio and through it you should be able to access limited radio functions.

I think they have removed the radio to try and force people to download the app. Probably because too many using ad blockers in their browsers.

It's weird because it was there until I became a premium user. Once I became premium, the layout of the webplayer changed immediately and the radio function was gone. On mobile after my playlist is finished, if the playlist is not on repeat, Spotify will connect me with a radio that plays similar music so that I can discover new songs. This function is gone on the radio. I think they removed it deliberately.

They definitely changed it recently and I can only imagine it has to do with ad blockers. I can still use the radio, I just can't see it. Forshame, as I use the web player at work.

Radios can be started by right-clicking on any Artist, Track or Album link.
