Shuffle in Terrible, New Web Player

Shuffle in Terrible, New Web Player

Spotify's shuffle algorithm is notoriously bad, but ever since they downgraded and gutted the web player, I feel like it's gotten worse. I have around 700 songs in my "song" tab, yet I'm hearing the same 30ish songs constantly. By constantly, I frequently hear the same song pop up that I heard an hour or two earlier.  There seems to be a massive recency bias too, because the songs that keep repeating are more recently added than songs I added months/years ago.

Is anyone else experiencing this? It's possible that I'm wanting to attribute Spotify's already bad shuffle method to this terrible, terrible new web player, and I wanted to check with other users.

You should get out of the web player, none of them for anyof the streaming networks are any good. Get the app.

I would use the desktop application if I could, but I work at a state job and can't install anything on the machines due to elevated security issues. The web player is  unfortunately my only option for Spotify.
