I've been trying to get Spotify to connect to the internet for days now and it still won't connect. I have a full connection and I've tried connecting wirelessly and via ethernet cord. I've also logged out/back in to spotify, restarting my computer, and uninstalling then reinstalling spotify but still no luck connecting to the internet. Any ideas on what's wrong?

um, i had the same problem which persisted for more than 2 weeks. my webplayer seemed to work fine but the desktop app wouldnt connect even though my internet was fine.
i think i just fixed it by running spotifyhelper.exe and spotifywebhelper.exe which i found in the C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Spotify\Data folder.
not sure what caused them to stop running. Please reply here if it works for anyone else having this issue
For Mac you can go to Applications > Right Click on Spotify, select "Show Package Contects" > Contents > Right Click on Frameworks, select "Show Package Contects" > Contents > Mac OS > Spotify Helper. You can also search for "helper" right after showing Spotify package contents. Make sure you select "Search Spotify" rather than "Search Mac OS" right next to the search bar. :)
