Configuring Spotify to open Maximized

To start with I am using Spotify downloaded from AUR. I am looking for a way to have Spotify open maximized. I have tried playing around with the prefs but have just been guessing. Anyone have any ideas?

Hey there @mmepsychosis

Thanks for reaching out to us about this - we'll be glad to help you out here.

We can't guarantee how the Spotify app would perform if downloaded from third-party sources. We rather suggest you download the app version for Linux from the official Spotify website as it's a trusted source.

You can find the version and installation steps here.

Keep us posted! We'll be happy to lend a hand if you need more help.

Which window manager are you using? You should be able to set special properties on an application/window basis.
For example, in KDE, you right click on window titlebar and go to More Actions -> Special Application settings. I don't know about other wm's, but I suppose there should be similar options in Gnome, XFCE, etc.

You could try the command line args --window --maximize if they work for you you can add them to the Exec line of the spotify .desktop file.

thx. these arguments worked on ubuntu with unity to start up spotify maximized.
