My Question or Issue

Spotify Connect in the linux client is unable to discover my Chromecast devices itself. If I connect to a device using my phone, then the device shows fine in the desktop client and I can control it. However, if I disconnect from it then the device disappears from the list.

In Google Chrome browser, if I go to Menu > Cast... all my devices show up fine. So this is not a computer or a network problem, it's an application problem.

As a side question (that I could try for a fix), why has the 1.12 version been stuck as a candidate release since July 29 and not promoted to stable? - https://snapcraft.io/spotify

The desktop clients of Spotify just are not able to connect to Chromecast. That's all... 😞
