Desktop Spotify will not save favorites

My Question or Issue

I have just re-installed Spotify (everything was working fine last week) only to find it will not save anything between sessions (favorites etc.)

I have to use the browser app to favorite artists for the desktop app.

I have performed a clean install twice now but no bananas.

Is there anyway to download previous versions for Ubuntu?
