Disable Spotify widget on lockscreen

How can I disable the spotify widget that gets shown with anoying album art on my lock screen.

Alternately, what command can I use to run Spotify in a sandbox mode, so that it does not hijack my volume button, and lock screen?

It's hard to be sure, but it's unlikely Spotify directly controls that, it would make more sense to control that on the desktop environment side. What DE are you using?
