Grey launcher, no Spotify icon on ubuntu 14.04

Grey launcher, no Spotify icon on ubuntu 14.04

Hi!!

With the two last Spotify versions, when I use the default Ubuntu icon theme there isn't the default Spotify icon on my Unity launcher, instead, there is a grey icon.

But, if I change to another icon theme then is correctly shown:

Please, could anyone help me? Thank you very much and very best regards!!

Hi,

Try this:

open terminal and type sudo nautilus then go to /usr/share/applications search for spotify and right-click to change the icon.

You can find the icons at /opt/spotify/spotify-client/Icons

Let me know if this helped you, I hope it does 🙂

Nevermind what I posted here 🙂

I've edited the OP, I think now is clearer. I apologize for my English!! 😄

  1. Unlock from Launcher
  2. $ mv $HOME/.local/share/applications/spotify.desktop /tmp
  3. $ spotify &
  4. Lock to Launcher

This solution worked for me, thank you!

Worked for me on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS
