My Question or Issue

Since Spotify was recently updated, I've been experiencing random playback of the last few seconds of some tracks. It seems to be the last few seconds of whatever track I last played that is stored locally (through the Show Local Files option).

This happens whether I'm playing back another song or not. It doesn't interrupt any currently playing song, just mixes in with it. Sometimes though Spotify is just running in the background doing nothing and it'll suddenly play.

As you can guess this can be pretty alarming if I have my volume turned up!

I've never had this problem before the recent update.

Spotify is installed by spotify-launcher in the Arch repository. According to spotify-launcher --print-deb-url this is where it gets the package from http://repository.spotify.com/pool/non-free/s/spotify-client/spotify-client_1.2.8.923.g4f94bf0d_amd6...

I'm using pipewire for sound and an M-audio audio interface.

Thanks!

Going to give the flatpak version a try to see if it happens there.

Still happens on the flatpak version.

I have this issue too! (Debian, flatpak version) Did you ever find a solution?

I never did find any solution. It just stopped happening eventually. But actually a couple weeks ago it did happen once more.
