Linux Client vs. Podcast => Crash

Linux Spotify Client(1.0.28.89.gf959d4ce) crashs, if i start a podcast (Fest & Flauschig) on android and try to play on the desktop client.

Linux Spotify Client(1.0.28.89.gf959d4ce) beendet sich, wenn ich einen Podcast auf dem Handy starte und der App sage, dass sie im Desktop Client weiter spielen soll.

Confirmed. It is a known crash bug internally, but I think you are the first to report it here on the forum.

 

It crashes in the Linux specific MPRIS code that shows information about the track being played. Since this is not a track, the code makes some wrong assumptions about the information available and crashes when it tries to send that information to dbus. Should be fairly simple to fix.

 

Will be fixed in next release?

It will probably not get fixed in the 1.0.33 release, maybe I will have time for the 1.0.34 release.

Please see if you can squeeze this in somewhere, it would be a big quality of life improvement for us Linux users.

 

I use a linux server as music streaming device and Spotify crashes every single day when i'm out listening to podcasts on my mobile device.
