My Question or Issue

Spotigy keeps crashing on startup. I have tried:

  • Reinstalling using the apt-get method on the spotify download website
  • Reinstalling using Ubuntu Package manager
  • copying over all the spotify files and .desktop file from my previous xfce mint install to xubuntu
  • reinstalling using snap
  • rebooting my computer

The crash dump is as follows:

buffer_manager.cc(488)] [.DisplayCompositor]GL ERROR :GL_INVALID_OPERATION : glBufferData: <- error from previous GL command
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

This was fixed temporarialy by clearing the spotify cache using the terminal command:

sudo rm -rf ~/.cache/spotify/Storage/*

But, after using that once or twice, it stopped working, leaving me where I started.
