My Question or Issue The desktop client takes up way too much memory. It starts with almost a 400megs and as it goes on, it ends up reaching upto almost a 700mb. Thats beyond acceptable limits for a music app. According to some there is a hardware accleration somewhere which significantly reduces the consumption, but cant find it anywhere within the application. Need it to consume some less memory please help

Can't tell for Linux right now, but on Win10 after startup it takes about 250MB and ~300-350MB while using. Without Hardware Acceleration it's about ~100MB less.

Try for yourself, hardware accleration is located in the settings --> bottom --> advanced settings --> second last option.

Tried looking for Hardware Accleration option, but its missing in the current version of linux client.

You see the startup isnt the problem, it starts at about 200. But it increases with every song, little by little and in no time would reach 400 or so, and if played for an extended period, i have seen it reach 700 mb. Its about memory management, which apparantly is completely missing from the linux client.
