Spotify doesn't work properly without a VPN

If I try to use Spotify on a browser(tried on multiple),
it *does* work, but I can't see playlists, lyrics. Unless I use a VPN, and then it works properly
I tried using the Desktop App (for linux)
Kubuntu 21.04 x86_64
Spotify version 1.1.72.439.gc253025e, Copyright (c) 2021, Spotify Ltd
but it refuses to load, and I get a `Something went wrong`
there's nothing in the console output too.
