Spotify failing to open skin on Linux

Spotify failing to open skin on Linux

Hi,

I know this has been posted before but I thought I would again because that post hasn't helped.

Up until 3 months ago Spotify worked well on the latest Linux mint with KDE desktop (32bit) but I am now unable to open the desktop as I get failed to open skin. I have tried installin/reinstalling and everything else in the othe post. All failed.

When I run through the terminal I get this:

ashley@Bob:~ > spotify

08:38:27.408 E [resource_loader.cpp:235 ] Loading of skin file(skin.xml) failed

Can anyone suggest what is wrong.

Thanks in advance.

I'm guessing it has to do with the skin you're using, like in the other thread. What happens if you chose another Qt skin? Does it work if you run it as root? (sudo spotify)
SpotCommander - The most elegant, intuitive, feature-rich & universal remote control for Spotify, exclusive for Linux users!

I tried changing the theme and every other idea I can think of that will affect it on my laptop. No difference. I have just retried running with sudo spotify starts to open but shows a frame with what is running behind and no I cann't close it.
