Ubuntu 14.04 Desktop client ERROR 4

Ubuntu 14.04 Desktop client ERROR 4

Abyone have a way to correct the common Spotify connection issues that occur without a weekly  uninstall/reinstall fiasco? These conditions appear out of nowhere( no body at the computer), and a Computer restart, Spotify restart, Spotify logout login does not fix them.  Last issue( last week) I read the board here and seems that many people had the same issue all at once, but no news from Spotify on why this happened.

Hey @kurtd,

Can you reproduce the issue while stracing Spotify?

strace spotify > $HOME/spotify-dump 2>&1
This is going to give me some more information what is going on in the background.
Also, can you confirm the Spotify version you are running?

execve("/usr/bin/spotify", ["spotify"], [/* 60 vars */]) = 0

spotify ver:1.0.25.127.g58007b4c

Hello @kurtd,

Thanks for sending this over. I will make some tests and I will get back to you.

Meanwhile, can you try 1.0.27 version and let me know if the issue persists and if yes, can you repeat the procedure above with the strace?

Thank you!

the existing Spotify desktop( i1.0.25.127.g58007b4c)  is now working once again.  I'm not sure what took place from the time it was not functioning till now when functioning.  I got home started up the existing application and had no trouble.
