My Question or Issue

On a HiDPI screen with a resolution of 3840 x 2160 scaled 200% to 1920 x 1080 the Spotify app doesn't scale with the rest of the operating system. The work around is to edit the spotify.desktop file and add a --force-device-scale-factor flag. Although this scales the app the mouse cursor is still not scaled so is almost impossible to see.

Surely Spotify should detect the OS scale factor and use that as default and scale the cursor along with it, which is what most other apps do.

You can zoom  with Ctrl and "+" or "-"

Yes that is possible to do but isn't a solution. Spotify should do what other apps do and respect the scale factor of the operating system they supposedly support.

You said it yourself - supposedly support.

HiDPI support doesn't work. Recently played stuff updates with a one to two month delay. Right-clicking on the application icon in the system menu doesn't give options for play/pause/stop. Those are just things that I can remember now.

Too bad Spotify is just ignoring a portion of its paying customers.
