When right-clicking a song to add to a playlist, not all of my playlists show up. Many times, only 5 show up or 15. It's completely random. I've restarted the app and my computer with no change. This issue doesn't show up on my iPhone. Running the most updated version on the latest High Sierra.
I am having this same issue (and am also running High Sierra). I have thousands of playlists (it's how I sort my music, playlists within subfolders). It is incredibly frustrating not to be able to add songs to these playlists.
One workaround that is working for me currently is when I want to add a song to specific playlist, I right click on that playlist, click "Edit Details" and then click "Save" once the dialog box opens. Then, somehow, the playlist appears when I right click to add the song to the playist (or try to drag the song on top of the playlist.)
Annoying work around, but that's how I've currently been getting around whatever bug there is with High Sierra and the Spotify app.
Same problem! So frustrating. There are some workarounds that I have found here and there: 1) play a song for the playlist you want to add to and then try to add again and it should show the playlist; 2) edit the playlist without changing anything and save.
Still, there should not be a need to have workaround, it should just work! Have tried to log-out and in again and no result. No problem with it in my iphone, just on osx.
Forgot to add that I also have tried to reinstall spotify (deleting cache and so) and nothing.
Same problem here, hopefully Spotify will acknowledge this and correct sooner rather than later... The work arounds are aweful.
I have High Sierra too and just recently noticed this issue. I can't recall if it was before or after I installed High Sierra. I installed High Sierra like a month or so ago and I don't recall this problem, so it might be something that recently started up and am not noticing it. Hope to hear soon from Spotify. It's not bothering me too much right now besides not knowing why it's doing that exactly. I suspect this issue may only be happening to those of us who have hundreds or even thousands of playlists - so it could be some kind of for Spotify's app to handle memory and so it only shows the more recent and most populated playlists. Something like that may be the case.
I have this issue and I'm still running El Capitan. It seems to be linked to the window height (or rather, the position of the song you right click in relation to the bottom of the window), the pop-up will only extend as far as the bottom of the window. If you make the window taller or position the song so it is higher in the window it will show a few more but there is no way to select the ones that aren't visible initially. I'm pretty sure there used to be a scrollbar which allowed this but it has been removed.
So frustrating. This has made spotify unsuable for me in terms of adding new musics to listen to. I really hope they fix it but time doubt it. They are really bad at solving issues that only affect a few users/their power users.
I do have a lot of playlists to you might be into something when you say that might be the problem.
It's incredible how they keep breaking the most basic functionality?
About one third of my playlists show up when I try to add songs. What?
Same for me, just 5/6 playlists are showing up and the drag/drop to a playlist doesn't work neither.
Sierra and version 1.0.74, updated today.
An update: I think the idea of the where the playlist is on the screen is spot on since sometimes now I do see all the playlists but then after something happens they are no longer there and we are back at square on.
So frustrating!
Yeah, my desktop client has been working inconsistently lately as well. Sometimes the playlists will function as they did before where I can drag and drop songs onto them and they add fine. Other times they won't.
The only thing that has seemed to make a difference is leaving Spotify open on my computer for long periods of time. Maybe because it is downloading the information from the server, the longer it remains idle the more opportunity it has to download all the data which populate my playlists?
Also, sometimes my playlist *folders* won't load either and, when they aren't loaded, I can't drag and drop an album or song into the folder for it to create a playlist into that folder. This was not a problem when I first posted, but it popped up this week.
The whole playlist and playlist folder system is broken in some way and needs to be fixed.
I'm having the same problem.Only 6 playlists showing
