Adding Spotify to the High Sierra Mac Notification Center

Adding Spotify to the High Sierra Mac Notification Center

I have found a way to add Spotify to the High Sierra Mac Notification Center without the use of any 3rd party apps or mods.

  1. Open the Notification Center on your Mac (top right of the screen)
  2. Click on Edit (down the bottom)
  3. Drag "Now Playing" to the notification center
  4. Click Done
  5. You should now see the Spotify player with forward, back, seek and the cover art in the Notification Center

For me, before it worked when I followed the steps you posted. But I don't know why today it just started not working. I am sure the Spotify app is playing, but the "now playing" bar just says "not playing/working" or is just blank. Why does this not work? Please help me! I tried restarting the Spotify app and dragging the "now playing" bar out and inside again. But it still doesn't work. Please help me solve this problem!

Hello,
Have you tried full reinstall (Spotify App) on your mac?

It works now. As I have restarted the laptop multiple times. Thanks anyways!

Great! Have a nice day!
