My Question or Issue

 How do I disable Spotify auto startup when I login my computer? Please I need to disable it because my iMac crashes usally and Spotify needs to calm down (stop opening). Thanks!

Hello @Raymond_1227!

Are you able to open Spotify app at all? If so then open Spotify -> Preferences -> Show Advanced settings and look for "Open Spotify automatically after you log into the computer" and select "No".

If your Mac crashes before you can change this setting within Spotify then try this:

• At first start up your Mac in safe mode (How to start up in safe mode) and log in
• Open a new Finder window and press CMD+Shift+L
• Navigate to Application Support -> Spotify
• Open file named "prefs" using a text editor.
• Look for a line named "app.autostart-mode"
• Change the setting to "off" (it should look like this app.autostart-mode="off")
• Then save the file and you're done
