I know it sounds simple, but it's often overlooked. Could you try restarting your device? If that doesn't help, try a quick clean reinstallation of the app. Just follow the steps here. Please try to disable Hardware Acceleration, you will find in the Spotify menu next to the Apple Menu in your Menu Bar. Phew* so many menus.
If that doesn't work either please try to create another user account and install Spotify there. Let me know how it goes :)
