I have closed spotify and tried reopening it.
Deleted the program and then reinstalled.
Done a clean reinstall.
Restarted my computer.
still just the black screen.
My device and operating system:
Type of Spotify account: Premium / USA
The app version of Spotify: Trying to update to the newest version.

Hope you are doing great!
Try to disable Hardware Acceleration, just click on the spotify Menu in your Menu Bar next to the Apple Menu, just find Hardware Acceleration and next click on it to disable then confirm to restart Spotify.
Let me know how it goes 🙂
Same issue. First ever install of Spotify desktop.
Dsabled hardware acceleration but same result
Found an old version from another post and it works < removed for security >
