Can't get Spotify to stop starting automatically

Spotify! I'm about to cancel my subscription because I cannot get your application to STOP STARTING AUTOMATICALLY when I start up my Mac. I've read the boards, I've tried all the settings and your system keeps overriding my request. This is MY computer and I pay YOU for a service. Part of that service is to do what I ask. Who's with me?!
