Can't send songs or playlists to my friends! help!!

Whenever I try to send my friend a song, I type in their name into the first box of the "send to..." tab, and it always has the message of 

"Sorry, no results could be found". I am following my friend and they are following me, so that isn't the problem because they're even showing up on the right collom designated for friends.

 

My friend isn't on facebook, so maybe thats the problem? I also have spotify premium, an they do not, so that could also be a problem.

One of my teammates just checked and "barelysaltysunset" is not following you, so that's why you can't share him your songs 😧

Sharing music and playlists is available as long as both users follow each other.

Hey @huffyypuffyy

This is a known bug that happens when you search for certain users. It is still being looked into.

In the meantime, I recommend sending songs to other people through test message, Facebook messenger, Twitter DM, email, etc

In the share option there should be an option to copy the link to the song or album or playlist.

I have same problem 😞 can't send messages to my friend who follows me and i follow him and we are both linked to facebook where we are also friends. Hope you fix this soon????

I don't even have the option to send to an individual person. Only the "Post to Followers" option is available, on iOS and PC/Mac. This is beyond ridiculous as one of the main reasons I am a PAYING customer of Spotify is so I can share new music with my friends directly. I don't wish to spam my Facebook account and copying the link and sharing elsewhere is a pain. For now I am having to settle with having a collaborative playlist with friends and then adding songs and telling them elsewhere. Fix this. Please.

Only option i have when i click share is "post to followers" There is no "send to " anymore

Spotify recently deleted the inbox feature of Spotify, so you can no longer send a collaborative playlist to a specific person. I'm still hunting for a solution, but I haven't had any luck.

Looks like the solution is that the option is still there on an older version but the problem is how to stop spotify updating itself to this now rubbish version

I tried it yesterday and its fine but when i log out and back in again,the stupid update happens

There are lots of issues since these updates but nothing is being done about it

This last update has been a complete cluster****

I cant even log in anymore as the buttons dont work on the login screen

Look at all the issues people are having

I've never posted in these forums, despite having issues with Spotify for years. I pay for the service and am overall happy. 

But not being able to SEND SONGS TO FRIENDS WHO ARE SPOTIFY USERS through the app is absolutely insane and unforgivable. 

Shame on you Spotify, fix this immediately! Wish I had a workaround but it doesn't seem to exist, we're stuck with this dumb update and LOSS OF FUNCTIONALITY that was very important.

I agree! Sharing songs with friends through Spotify was one of my favorite parts. Having to click on a link that sends me to a web page that makes me log in and then takes me to the app is ridiculously inefficient.

Spotify Family Preimium Member here NOT IT IS NOT SOLVED!! -- CANNOT SHARE MUSIC WITH FRIENDS!! - i cannot even share with my family members who are  -- this is my 3rd month and i am really about done with this nonesense -- i assume you are being paid by facebook (note - none of my family members are on this thing - the adults are too old and the kids are too young to have ever had a facebook account - and i will not start when i'm paying you $180 per year).  This is a GARBAGE service -- if this isn't fixed before my next bill you are done.  Goodbye to this revenue stream - and my kids will be back on your free service.

Just popping in here to express my frustration that you still can't do this. Why would you not be able to share playlists, albums, or music with other users internally?

This is garbage.

There is no way to directly share a playlist with another user on Spotify.  Having to use a different messaging service is utter BS.  Spotify needs to fix this.  This is enough to make me cancel my account and go elsewhere.

I'm here to continue to make sure that people realize this is an issue that premium users are not happy about.

Even if I were to only be able to send songs to other premium users - why wouldn't you let us encourage our friends to sign back on to the app and use it? This is literally what this app is for. 

Just let me send the sick jams I come across to my friends. Or make playlists like "Riley I miss you here's a playlist I made for you." Not being able to do this sucks.
