Cannot add album to a new playlist on Desktop app

As per the title. 

11.5.1 Big Sur user. Using desktop app. 

Trying to add an album to a new playlist and it just won't work.  Seems like it's a glitch and have found a workaround by scrolling down the list of playlists and back up again. This seems to fix it but it's annoying! 

Any ideas? this is how i save albums I want to listen too.

In order to understand the issue, please let us know what's the process you're following to try to add albums to your playlists.

Also, do you get any error messages when you try to do it? Some screenshots or a video would come in handy to keep helping you.
