I am able to open the Spotify desktop client but not able to play any music after I hit the play button. The strange thing is the playback slider is moving but no music is playing on my headphones.
I have restarted the client, restarted my computer and also done a clean reinstall of the client, but to no avail.
I managed to determine that it is a Spotify client issue alone as I am able to play audio from YouTube and even the Spotify web player on my browser.
Please assist, thanks in advance!

Hi there!
I know it sounds simple, but it's often overlooked. Could you try restarting your device? If that doesn't help, try a quick clean reinstall of the app. Just follow these steps.
I'd also suggest following the steps from this Spotify Answer.
If you're still having trouble, could you let me know the exact version of Spotify and the exact version of the operating system you're running?
I'll see what I can suggest next!
I am also running MacOS Catalina Version 10.15.6 Spodify has been disabled. I get an error message that reads: "The developer of this app needs to update it to work with this version of macOS. Contact the developer for more information."
Ok Spodify, what's up???
Hey there @mdelag and @baseballcat,
Thanks for reaching out to us 🙂
We'd suggest you give these steps a go and run a clean reinstall. That way you can make sure the app is up-to-date and the cache is not leading to any issues. If you've any power saving apps, you can deactivate them for Spotify.
@baseballcat If you can still see the error message, you can send us a screenshot of it. We'll investigate this further.
Let us know how it goes. If you have questions, you know where to find us.
