Configure Sculpt keyboard for Spotify

Hi guys,

I started using Microsoft Sculpt keyboard with my Macbook Air. The keyboard is fantastic but, by default, it's missing the crucial keys I use with Spotify - Next & Previous. 

I tried configuring it in Keyboard -> Shortcuts -> App Shortcuts and I can add both buttons and map them to certain keys. But it only works when I have Spotify open on an active screen. And the whole point is to switch between songs when you have something completely different on the screen, without the need to switch windows.

Any idea how to configure it? I though Karabiner app might help but it doesn't have these two particular options.
