My Question or Issue

Just posting this in case it helps anyone else. I had a crackling every 30 seconds or so on Spotify. I followed the steps here - https://community.spotify.com/t5/Desktop-Mac/Mac-Troubleshooting-Spotify/td-p/105281 - and this worked for a few days, then the issue returned. I was having the same problem with any application that played sound. Did some googling and what solved the issue for me was:

Open Activity Monitor > Click on the CPU tab > find Coreaudiod, click on it, then in the menu at the top click on view > Quit > force Quit

No restart, no uninstall.
