[Desktop][Connect] Spotify keeps opening at computer log in

This problem is not new, as I read in older post going back to 2016 and earlier, but Spotify did still not solve it so I decided to desinstall the app.
 
Basically I have a Mac Big Sur and Spotify kept opening after each login although:
-I closed the app completely  before shutting down my computer
-In the Spotify settings I specified "No" for opening at log in
- In my mac settings, Spotify isn't even in my list of apps that is supposed to open at log in!
 
I read this problem isn't limited to mac but happens with Windows as well. I don't want an app that does not respect my settings or spending hours looking for solutions on google when it is an well known issue.

Hey @nomad223, welcome to the Community.

Hope you're doing great!

Set it to No in Spotify Settings then follow these steps:

1. Go to System Preferences
2. Enter inside Users & Groups
3. Select Login Items and click the + sign
4. Add Spotify app from the Applications folder
5. Log out then log back in
6. Go to that same place on step 3 but instead remove the Spotify app this time

After that it should no start on its own anymore.
