[Desktop] "can't play the current song" appears on every song

[Desktop] "can't play the current song" appears on every song

You know the whole "can't play the current song" thing? Well. After shutting down my MacBook Air 2013... and turning it back on again. It's started appearing on every and any song I play.

I have tried most if not all solutions and still nothing.

Can't believe I pay for this. Has the company released a statement on this?

Please help. I am running on High Sierra.

Hi there!

I know it sounds simple, but it's often overlooked. Could you try restarting your device? If that doesn't help, try a quick clean reinstall of the app. Just follow these steps.

I'd also suggest updating to macOS Mojave 10.14.6 🙂

If you're still having trouble, could you let me know the exact version of Spotify and the exact version of the operating system you're running?

I'll see what I can suggest next!

Hi Loxer. Sorry for overdue reply.

I tried the restart but can't do a clean reinstall because I can't find the Spotify client thing.

My Mac is a MacBook Air 11-inch Mid-2013 running on MacOS Mojave Version 10.14.6, upgrading though did mpthnot.

My Spotify is 1.1.18.611.g9cc9bdc9

Hey @Cloud1,

There's a newer version, 1.1.22 for Spotify. Could you try to update?

Keep me posted 🙂

Yeah, I updated.

Hey @Cloud1,

Could you try the steps from this Spotify Answer to see if that helps?

Thanks 🙂

I'm trying the quick reinstall, which I might have to postpone the finish until tomorrow when my mom approves Spotify.Com on my security filter. Filter is blocking your site but I'll have that fixed shortly. 🙂

I'll let you know
