My Question or Issue

Day to day, I listen most often to music which contains lyrics, yet for over a year now, my Discover Weekly suggestions refuse to suggest nothing but light intrumental music. Spotify obviously has no interest in allowing us to reset the learning algorithm, so what can I do to actually influence it to play other genres I want it to play? Clicking the Like/Dislike buttons don't seem to help.  Listening to playlists that have wide ranges of good music and genres doesn't seem to help.

What exactly affects the algorithm? Are there things that do not, like certain types of playlists? I'm getting sick of these intrumentals showing up every week and would like it to start reflecting my other tastes more. Some facet of data is getting too much weight applied to it and skewing my results way to heavily.

my Discover Weekly suggestions is doing the exact same thing.  I even down-voted all songs on the list for a couple weeks and it only got worse, the songs became even simpler instrumentals, like old keyboard demos.  Frustrating, so I stopped following the playlist.  Would be nice to reset.  best I can find for now is to vote for the feature here

I’m very active kn Spotify, I produce record compilations, curate playlists for labels and listen a lot on both tidal and Spotify. The weekly playlist years ago was something I enjoyed very much. That changed when my listening habits shifted - I used to listen to a lot of psychedelic funk etc (5 years ago) but since two years I’m more into Balearic and ambient pop, electronic stuff and Spotify will still send me the stuff from 5 years ago mixed with exotica and probably more of Sun Ra no matter what. Like really the stuff I can’t listen to any longer. The algorithm seems to be very very slow on picking up. If I was them I would base the weekly playlists on my monthly listening habits - everyone changes their moods and tastes, it should catch up, inspire and support that. You came here - guess it’s the same for you?
