Does this app use the apple core audio archetecture for bit perfect playback?  Currently using windows on my mac for gaming once I get a gaming pc built I want to swap my iMac back to Mac OS X and use it as a music PC because I heard that the sound archetecture is superrior to windows?  I am buying a DAC and some electrostatic headphones from massdrop when they appear for sale.  If spotify does not I will be canceling my premium and swapping to apple music which has all the music I listen to and allows for bit perfect playback on all systems it works on.

Hey @draeft-lore.

Thanks for getting in touch!

The desktop app’s standard quality is Ogg Vorbis 160kbit/s.

Premium subscribers can choose to switch on High quality streaming, which uses 320kbit/s.

This means you'll always have a compressed audio file playing. The compression is pretty impressive however. Try it out when you get your headphones 🙂

Have a nice day!
