Empty playlists, songs won't play

My Question or Issue

Playlist (eg New Music Friday) are empty showing only the message "This playlist is currently empty"

Some songs do play but others (most) won't.

I have this issue only on my macbook, spotify works fine on my phone.

Things I have tried:

• Restart computer
• Restart Spotify
• Delete and reinstal spotify
• Create new account (worked for a couple of days and then also broke)
• Tried to change host file (I'm not sure I did it right)
